At this year’s Bunya Conference, Annika Rammelt was able to score second place in the poster prize competition.
The international Bunya Conference that took place in Bilbao, Spain, is a leading global forum dedicated to advancing research on Bunyaviricetes, a class of viruses encoding their genome in a negative-sense single stranded RNA. Multiple viruses that are part of this order have significant implications for human, animal, and ecosystem health. With her poster about the inhibition mechanism of the Lassa virus polymerase by its Z matrix protein, Annika impressed the poster prize jury, comprised of scientists from virology, structural biology, epidemiology and public health and was awarded second place.
