Short Academic Biography 
  • ​Katja worked at Eppendorf Group in Hamburg from 2010 to the present, contributing to the development of Shakers, Incubators, and ThermoMixers and coordinating application- and customer-oriented testing across departments.

​

  • She holds a degree in Biotechnology and Process Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Flensburg and completed a practical semester and diploma thesis at the University of Lübeck, focusing an carbohydrate synthesis and celluar uptake of N-Acetylglucosamine.

 

  • Since October 2023, she has been pursuing a Master's in Bioinformatics and is currently a Master's student in the Topf Lab, working on assessing and optimising particle picking tools for electron tomography analysis.

  • Computational methods for Cryo-Electron Tomography (Cryo-ET) data

  • Optimising image analysis pipeline for particle detection

  • Applying bioinformatics to study complex cellular structures
