Short Academic Biography
  • Shared PhD candidate between Topf lab at CSSB and Rosenthal lab at BNITM

  • Master's in Medical Biotechnology with a specialisation curriculum in Nanobiotechnology at the University of Trieste

  • Bachelor's in Biotechnology at the University of the Eastern Piedmont

Research Interests
  • Molecular Biology: fascinated by how physical and chemical principles govern biological systems

  • Structural Biology: structural modelling and experimental analysis of proteins, with a focus on supporting structure-based drug discovery

  • Computational Drug Design: Focus on understanding protein-ligand interactions to identify and guide therapeutic design

  • Experimental validation: Bridging in silico predictions with in vitro/in vivo assays to confirm biological activity and therapeutic potential

Current Project
  • Structural characterisation of the Lassa Virus proteins to identify druggable antiviral targets, combining evolutionary computational analysis, computational drug discovery techniques and experimental validation to support rational antiviral design

Achievements
  • Award “Fiorenzo Mazzi” for the best Master's Thesis in the crystallography field (AIC - Italian Crystallography Association) 2025: "Scouting molecules against M. Abscessus iron acquisition pathways through structural characterisation of the Salicylate Synthetase to target Cystic Fibrosis"
